Christmas Part 2

Christmas has already begun at the Taylor house. First, my grandparents showered Jackson and Audrey last weekend. Now it was Ross' parents' turn. They gave Jackson an early Christmas present so we wouldn't have to haul it home at Christmas time, which we very much appreciate!

Jackson got his very own Jeep! The pictures sort of capture how excited he was...

Grandad & Jackson

His first call on the radio was, "I love you, Mommy!" Talk about a heartmelting moment.

After all of that excitement, Jackson also got to pick out our Christmas trees...that's right...more than one. We got our standard tree for the living room, but Jackson also wanted a little tree, which of course we got since he said, "Please!". How can you say no to that?

This was Audrey's first experience with a Christmas tree, and so far I think she likes it!

Jackson worked hard decorating his little tree today, and it turned out adorable. Here he is hard at work.

We attempted to get some pictures of Jackson and Audrey and their cousin, Mitchell, this weekend. Here's what we got. We were never able to get all 3 to cooperate, but they are still some of the cutest kiddos ever!

Mitchell had just woken up from a nap, so getting a smile out of him was tough. He's one of the happiest babies in the world, but you probably wouldn't be excited about having a camera in your face just after you woke up either. There are more pics of these adorable kiddos in the album.

Thanksgiving Part 4

The 4th part of our Thanksgiving celebration was the big meal with the Taylor family, and it was a great day! We did an evening meal, so the day started with some good, relaxing play time.

This is our adorable nephew, Mitchell, who gives the 2nd best hugs in the world...Jackson is 1st.

Jackson and Audrey loved playing with their cousin and each other!

Our first attempt at cooking a Thanksgiving meal for the family turned out pretty good thanks to years of watching others, as well as some help from my Grandparents and Ross' family. Ross was the primary chef this year, and he did an amazing job! We have lots of left overs if anyone out there is still hungry!

Ross & Audrey

Special thanks to this wonderful couple, Ross' Mom and Dad, not only for helping us this weekend, but also for the years of teaching you've done and the wonderful example you have set!

John & Susan

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

Mitchell's 1st Birthday

Our nephew, Mitchell, turned 1 on Wednesday, and we were fortunate enough to get to celebrate with him since he and his parents came to Houston for Thanksgiving. We started the evening with gifts...all of the kiddos enjoyed opening the presents.

We had a delicious dinner at Lupe Tortilla followed by birthday cake at our house.

Mitchell is definitely a fan of cake!

Jackson felt the need to blow out a candle too, so Grandmother relit Mitchell's candle and helped Jackson out.

We are so thankful to have been able to celebrate with Mitchell and his Mommy and Daddy, Leslie and Philip. Happy 1st Birthday Mitchell!

Thanksgiving Baking

This afternoon Jackson and Audrey helped me bake some cookies. Audrey has been home sick the last two days, so she helped just by being in my arms while I was mixing the ingredients...she didn't want to be put down, and since she's been running a pretty high fever, I decided to indulge her.

When Jackson got home from day care, he helped roll out the dough and use the cookie cutters. He was such a good little helper!

There are more pics of Jackson helping out in the album.

By the end of the day, Audrey seemed to be feeling much better, so hopefully, she's on the mend!

We've been cooking a little every day since Saturday with the next two days being the marathon cooking days. We're looking forward to visiting with family and eating lots of good food!

Thanksgiving Part 3 & Christmas Part 1!

Last weekend my Mom and Grandparents came for a visit. We had such a wonderful time. This will be the first year that we don't go back to Louisiana for Thanksgiving or Christmas, so it was really nice to get to spend some time with them. My Grandparents make the world's best cornbread dressing, so they spent some time teaching me the recipe, as well as their tricks for pulling off a successful Thanksgiving Day meal.

Since we won't be there for Christmas, Jackson and Audrey got their gifts from their G.G. (Great Grandmother) and Great Granddaddy early. Here are some pics of the fun.

Jackson got a Spiderman sleeping bag with his name on it. He's never seen Spiderman, but he LOVES it! I have a feeling we'll be pulling out the tent and having some "camp outs" inside.

Jackson did most of the opening, but Audrey had fun with the paper too.

Saturday night we had a friend baby sit so we could all go out for a nice dinner at Cullens. It was delicious! On Sunday we went to church in the morning, and then squeezed in a quick photo shoot before the kiddos went down for their naps and everyone headed home.

Here are Great Granddaddy and G.G. with the kiddos.

It was a wonderful weekend, and we feel so blessed to have been able to spend the time with everyone. Thanks for coming down! There are a few more pictures in the album.

Thanksgiving Part 2

Today was the Thanksgiving Feast at Jackson and Audrey's school. We spent the majority of our time hanging out in Jackson's room, and he had a blast. Here are a few pictures, and there are more in the album.

While we were playing, Ross was busy helping out by carving the turkey for the feast. Thanks Ross!
