Crawfish Boil 2012

We had a smaller version of our annual crawfish boil this year, and while we downsized in a lot of ways, we still had loads of fun! The kiddos were extra excited that morning, which means they were T-R-O-U-B-L-E! There was lots of screaming, running around, playing the piano, and even a little pulling of our dog, Bailey's tail!

They were also really cute playing the piano together.

The festivities began in the afternoon, and we were quickly surrounded by family and friends! We got a moonwalk to entertain the kiddos a little more this year, which allowed the adults to spend more time eating and visiting!

The next day we went to the park with Leslie, Philip, and Mitchell before they headed out of town. They had lots of fun running, swinging, and sliding around!

Then we spent a little time by the water before they hit the road.

Sadly, that will be the last time Mitchell gets to run around for quite a while. When they got home that evening he managed to break his femur! Poor little guy will be in a cast for at least 6 weeks.

Audrey woke up early from her nap that afternoon, so we had a mini photo session in our backyard. She's becoming our little diva!

As usual, there are more pictures in the album.

Easter

Easter...we couldn't have imagined a better day, and I mean that in every way it could be taken, both literally and spiritually! Our kiddos awoke to find their presents from the Easter bunny in their baskets and their eggs hidden around the house. They were both so excited and eager to show us what they got.

Once the eggs were all found, it was time to give thanks and PLAY!

Then we got dressed up and headed to church. I love the way our pastor, Randy, helps us imagine what it must have been like to be right there in the midst of the stories we read in the Bible. Today, I imagined what it must have been like to be there the day Jesus appeared to the men walking along the road to Emmaus. It must have been amazing to hear Jesus explaining how He fulfilled the old testament prophesies that day!

After lunch and naps, we had another Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Audrey was a little slower finding eggs, but only because she wanted to eat the candy out of them as she found them! Jackson was an incredibly sweet big brother and started finding eggs for her to help fill her basket!

After the kiddos had their fill of candy, we ditched the dressy clothes for our swimsuits and spent the afternoon washing cars and playing with the water hose. It was nearly impossible to get them to come inside for dinner because they were having so much fun playing in the "rain". They were taking turns spraying the water up in the air and giggling with delight as it fell on them. Needless to say, they were starving when they finally came inside and both crashed hard when their heads hit the pillow. It truly was an incredible day!

There are more pictures of the fun in the album.

Graham

I had the honor of spending the better part of this week in Ruston, LA with our best friends Barbara and Heath and their boys, Carter and Graham. Graham is almost 2 months old, and Barbara goes back to work full time next week. Needless to say, I was a little spoiled getting to spend so much time with them this week. Graham is an angel, and Carter is the second sweetest big brother I know (I'm a little partial to Jackson). I got some good cuddling time in with both of them! Here are a few pictures from the week, and there are a few more in the album.

Ross was Super-Dad while I was gone. He took care of doctors visits, a field trip, and Easter parties at school in addition to the normal chaos of life. I'm SO grateful for him!
