JSC Field Day

Audrey's school had field day on Friday. It was 2 hours of non-stop fun! Her class were the Rowdy Raccoons...can you guess why?

They started the events off with the pledge of allegiance. Rodney the Raccoon cheered from a nearby tree as the kids did some hurdles and egg races.

Next up was a little over/under, balloon popping, water scoop racing, and a hula hoop game, as well as a short snack break.

Then there was a balloon toss. Audrey and her partner were adorable. Audrey kissed her balloon and held it like a baby before tossing it back and forth. She and her friend won the second round of the balloon toss...Audrey would take a step back after each toss and her friend would take a step forward. It worked great! :-) Next was a relay race, which was followed by a short photo op with two of her favorite friends!

The grand finale was tug of war! All of the kids LOVED it. Everyone pitched in to clean up before heading inside for the medal ceremony. They were all winners and behaved so well that they each got a medal and got to move their clips to the top of the chart!

It was a fun way to spend the morning, and believe it or not, there are even more pictures in the album!

Jackson's Field Day

A little over a week ago Jackson's school had their Field Day. Ross and I were both in town for a change, so we went to check it out. It was very different than what we remember field day being like. It was basically a free-for-all. They started in the gym. Each kid had a partner, and they took turns picking what they wanted to do for two hours. There were lots of game options. Some indoors and some outside. Jackson and his partner, Lizzy, started outside.

A free-for-all is tough for kindergartners. Jackson and Lizzy had a hard time deciding where to start. Once they had a couple of games under their belts, Lizzy decided she didn't want to play the games Jackson wanted to play. Poor Jackson was so disappointed. His teacher quickly came to the rescue though, and they did great the rest of the time!

Two hours of non-stop playing was a bit much for these two though. They took a little break and watched the other kids for a while before getting back to the fun!

There are more pics of the fun in the album!
